Statechanged's founder on nervous system healing, polyvagal theory, and somatic wellness

About the Founder

Meet Kitty Schur — founder of The statechanged Method

Kitty Schur created The statechanged™ Method with one intention: to help the person she once was. Her path began with personal experience — years spent navigating burnout, nervous system dysregulation and the quiet ache of misalignment. What she longed for, she could not find: a practitioner who could blend science with softness, structure with soul. What started as a healing journey evolved into a lifelong commitment — and ultimately, led to the creation of The statechanged™ Method.

A graduate of the University of Southern California with a BA in Film and Public Relations, Kitty began her career rooted in authentic storytelling, advocacy and empowerment. She went on to build and exit a digital community platform that supported over 13,000+ women on their professional paths. She later earned her M.Sc. in Global and Social Innovation and Impact from the London School of Economics, with a focus rooted in creating new developments and advancements within the mental health sector.

Since then, she has immersed herself in advanced certifications and trainings across multiple disciplines, including:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • The Hakomi Method
  • Polyvagal Theory
  • Somatic Trauma Therapy
  • Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
  • Integrative Nutrition
  • HeartMath
  • Neural Awareness
  • Kundalini Yoga
  • The Play Zone (Neurophysiological Performance Coaching)

Kitty is a self-described non-purist — instead, she considers herself a curator. She draws from across modalities, philosophies and evidence-based practices to craft offerings that are not only informed, but deeply applicable and accessible. With The statechanged™ Method, Kitty offers more than a protocol. This work is an intentional extension of her own lived experience — a path shaped by her healing, curiosity and a profound commitment to alignment above all else.
