Our Method
We are not purists – we integrate the best of what works. Our method draws from Mindfulness Teachings, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Work, The Hakomi Method, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and The Law of Attraction Principles. We prioritize the mind-body connection by offering state specific regulating resources that increase resilience, support interstate travel and enhance the overall wellbeing of your nervous system.
1 What is the nervous system?

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is an evolutionary mechanism that operates automatically to regulate essential body functions. Whether sensing potential threats and preparing your body for action or detecting safety and allowing your body to rest and recover, your nervous system is constantly adapting with a singular intention in mind — to increase your likelihood of survival.
2 What is it made up of?

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) is made up of two main parts: the sympathetic and the parasympathetic system. The sympathetic system (SNS) acts like a gas pedal, preparing your body to respond during moments of stress or danger. The parasympathetic system (PNS) functions like a brake, helping your body slow down, rest and recover. Together, they ensure your body responds appropriately to life's demands.
3 What does it control?

The Autonomic Nervous System (ANS) controls essential functions like heart rate, breathing, digestion and blood pressure. It also influences how you experience yourself, others, and the world around you, determining whether you feel safe or stressed. Your ANS plays a key role in determining whether you are in a state of Regulation — characterized by wellbeing — or in one of three states of dysregulation: Activation , Depletion or Overload.

Discover Your Current Nervous System State
Becoming state aware is an essential part of the first step of The statechanged™ Method. This brief quiz will help you identify your current nervous system state by considering various aspects of your lifestyle and habits, exploring your energy levels, how you make decisions, your social interaction style and how you respond to stress.
Each nervous system state is defined by unique narratives, feelings, behaviors, thoughts and sensations. At statechanged™, we help you cultivate state awareness and support you through every step of your nervous system wellness journey.
